Dear Mommy Long Legs, I just want to say a very heart felt thank you for creating this website and offering pants to tall women who are pregnant! I am 27 and pregnant with my first child. At 5’11″, I always have a hard time finding long jeans. When it came time to start buying maternity clothes, I dreaded finding pants because I didn’t think anyone would sell them long enough. But I came across your website and felt instant elation and hope! When I grow out of my pre-preggo jeans, I’m heading straight here to buy some long maternity jeans. Thank you so much for all you do to make it possible for tall pregnant girls to be cute!

Would another set of hands make me a freak?

So, I’ve pretty  much come to terms with my larger than life  physical status.  In fact, most days, I celebrate it.  But, after reading this article, “The Myth of Doing it All: Modern Moms and Hiring Help,” I started wondering what would happen if I had a few extra hands. Of course, I’m not speaking literally, but what if, I hired some help? Would it catapult me right back into the world of freakdom where people feel the need to weigh in on all that is obviously different. What would people say or think? I imagine it would be something like this:

Tooting Your Own Horn

A few months ago, we were contacted by an editor from Pregnancy and Newborn. She wanted to review our products…and I had just the product for her. Our new samples of tall maternity jeans had just arrived in the mail and they were BEAUTIFUL! So I quickly packed them up, sent them up, said a prayer, crossed my fingers, and did just about every other superstitious ritual to bring about good luck. (Disclaimer: no chickens or small rodents were harmed in these events)

Celebrating You

Our goal at Mommy Long Legs is to recognize (and provide for) women that do not fit one standard size of measurement. We realize women come in a variety of shapes and sizes even if society is perpetually telling us that beauty is defined as a perfectly proportioned, 5’8″, stick thin, flawless model. We are dedicated to providing options to those women who do not fit that mold.

Dear Customers, I love you…BUT…

…a few of you are driving me insane!

Before I elaborate, lets get back to that first part. I really do love you.  You are the reason we are in business. The reason I work until midnight on Friday nights. The reason I  justify putting my kids in daycare 2 days a week.  I am so rewarded knowing that tall girls finally have comfort, style and LONG maternity clothes while pregnant!

Would you put your famiy on Reality TV for being tall?

A thought I’m pondering this morning as I see the following statement come across my “Tall News Radar.”

Do you stand out in a crowd?  Have you had to make big life adjustments because of your height?  Have you always been the tallest of your friends and family?

Casting Directors are looking for people of towering height who are willing to share their stories on a television series to be aired on a major cable network.

The show will feature a family of tall people, an individual and/or a group of tall people, with members at least 6’6”.  (Though not everyone in the family needs to be tall.)
